About Suzanne Higgins

My first career was as a radio and television presenter. It was great fun while I was in my twenties but after I got married and started to have children, broadcasting lost a lot of its appeal. I am very proud of the fact that I was the only female 'jock' in 2FM - Ireland's national music station. Likewise the television was a lot of fun but having started broadcasting at 17 years of age, I was ready to retire at 31. Plus, in truth, I wanted to be with my children.

That said … while I loved being with the girls … I still had too much excess energy! I needed to do something more - something for me. My husband saw that I needed a little push and so he arrived home with a super sleek black lap-top. At this point I had been playing around with the idea of writing a book and this was his way of challenging me. It worked.

The Power Of A Woman was the result. Some months later, my third child was born. This was followed by The Woman He Loves (and another baby). The Will to Win is the most recent arrival. It's just non stop production in this house!

The Irish Girls Are Back In Town is a short story that I have written for a book by the same name. It, along with a collection of works by other Irish writers has been published as a fundraiser for Bernardo's and The St Vincent De Paul. To find out more about my novels click on the bookshelf.

The days are pretty hectic at present. I split my time between my children and writing. That said, I really feel blessed and I don't think there is anything I would like to change at the moment ……I am proud and delighted to say that The Power Of A Woman reached number 2, and The Woman He Loves is a number 1 best seller.
